Please be extremely clear with clients on values for insurance purposes up front, especially for first time home buyers. Please don’t just tell them what type of coverage they need and expect they’ll know how much to insure for. That valuation amount could mean the difference between them completing the loan, or withdrawing. That’s something they NEED to know before they go too far to turn around.
Our experience with Veterans United was great. The process was very smooth. The documents that were required were easy obtain and once they were submitted they were reviewed quickly. The online e-sign feature worked great and make the process much faster. We closed on our house in less than 30 days. Very customer friendly.

At times I was told that we had all the documents necessary only to be notified that we had more documents to present and upload. A couple of times the documents uploaded properly to your system but then I was contacted stating that VU did not see them on your end. The responsiveness was fast and informative, but the constant requirements day after day was quite frustrating trying to juggle within my schedule. If it is possible, I would like to see the ability to upload all required documents once and then be done with it. Obviously, I do not know all the specifics of how the timing of everything works, but if it can be done, I believe that it would help relieve some of the stress of moving into a new home.
