For first time Home buying it was the easiest process I’ve ever done honestly
Working with Veterans United was such a huge blessing! I got introduced to Ryan back in May when initially trying to pre-approve for a home. I was in the process of moving back home due to the pandemic so I was jobless and without a steady income. The only income I had was disability and at the time it wasn’t enough to qualify. Ryan told me what I needed to qualify and within weeks (nothing but God!) I was at 100% disability. This and only this allowed me to pre-qualify. Ryan was with me the whole time. He told me about my credit and what to do to maintain the score. His team of people was great and held my hand. Sidebar: This is my first home and though it’s a blessing to receive disability, I had to go through some things to be awarded it. Nevertheless, a furloughed job, living with my parents, and collecting unemployment for close to a year was all worth the wait of walking into a newly built home. Thank you, Ryan and your awesome team for giving me a place of refuge and peace.
Website was easy to use

Experience first-hand why 358,198 homeowners give us a perfect score!
Ty Reese and his team are incredibly awesome. They helped me to rebuild my credit score, guiding me to a successful ownership. Much appreciate!
Ben and his team are the best to work with
Veterans United made so simple to upload documents through their app. I thought the process was going to be more complicated, but they communicate communicated with me very well. I spoke to them at least once a day. Everything was great.
I was nervous to initially check it out, there was always an one excuse or another not to do it. My credit is not the very best but it is decent and it really has to be. Don't expect them to be able to accomplish a un realistic home loan. Be honest with Veterans United and the team assigned to you but more importantly be honest with yourself. Don't expect miracles, know your budget, be prepared, be proactive and most importantly be patient and respond to their request immediately. It's your loan after-all even though you'll feel like the team is only working on your loan, keep in mind they are also working on others and their loans but their response to your concerns are still their highest priority. Even by email which in some cases are at odd late / early morning hours. Just shows you they are definitely working on your behalf to give you their very best effort to make your loan happen. If your expectations are realistic and your honestly expecting a good experience you'll be satisfied. Unless your assigned Loan specialist team is Logan and his team then good won't be "good enough" of a rating you'll actually recieve an excellent experience. Also would like to say to you all that Logan's team includes a beautiful coordinator/specialist named Taylor working on your loan and she is a Rockstar, I give Taylor 100 stars as she is fantastic in all areas as well. If I had to do it again I'd request and not quit requesting for Logan and Taylor to be assigned to accomplish my loan package that's how great they are.
Logan and team made me the happiest new home owner i could be and like I stated above they are what makes the Veterans United Home Loan experience stand out among the rest.
I never dreamt it would be so easy to get through this process. The transparency of the process and timeliness of communication of what they needed is unparalleled.
Veterans United had our back every step of the process! Corey and his team did a phenomenal job with our home loan. They made the process as easy as possible and communicated every step of the way! They were always available if we had any questions and never made the conversation feel rushed. This wasn’t just business to them, it was personal.
The communication throughout our mortgage process was consistently poor, and our Loan Officer did not stay on top of critical details. Several times, he simply “forgot” to tell us important information—such as needing an additional $3,400 in “rainy day” funds beyond closing costs. We also had repairs required by the lender outside of the appraisal, which he failed to disclose until the last minute. This caused our closing to be delayed by almost a week. We traveled 600 miles (one way) to complete the initial repairs, and despite asking multiple times for a full list of what was needed, we never received one. After my husband returned home, we were told—just two days before closing—that additional painting was required. It took four days just to get a clear answer about what was needed for the loan to be funded. During that time, I had already wired the closing costs and signed all the closing documents. I had asked directly for wire instructions days earlier, yet I received a text later acting as if we had never discussed it. When I reminded him that we had, he blamed memory issues on PTSD.The entire team seemed disorganized and rarely on the same page. The process ended up costing us far more money than it should have, and the communication was extremely frustrating. Our Loan Officer always had an excuse, and during only our second conversation, he became aggressive and noticeably unstable. This home was meant for my daughter, and the experience was far more stressful than it needed to be.If you want to have a video and our story for your Facebook marketing, I am happy to share our journey.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Aubrey,
Thank you for taking the time to share everything that happened. I’m really sorry to hear how confusing and stressful this process was for you and your family. You should have had clear information, consistent communication, and a full picture of what was needed long before closing, and it’s upsetting to hear how many details were missed or shared at the last minute. Having repairs added unexpectedly, traveling such a long distance, and still not getting direct answers would have been incredibly frustrating for anyone.
It’s especially concerning to hear how long it took to get clarity about what was required for your loan to move forward, and how you felt caught in the middle after already wiring funds and signing documents. The back-and-forth, the delays, and the feeling that you couldn’t rely on the information you were given made an already meaningful purchase much harder than it needed to be. When this home was meant for your daughter, I can only imagine how much more personal and challenging that stress felt.
I’d really like the chance for my advocate team to look deeper into what happened and understand the full situation from your perspective. If you’re open to talking, please reach out to us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com so we can go through your concerns together.
Overall a great experience. Did not enjoy when I was passed off to a the Jack guy. Sense of arrogance and made me hate this process even more. When I asked questions, I was given the same instructions that were in the to do list word for word. Hope to never work with him again.
